Renewal

Every Trademark has the validity of 10 years. Process of renewing can be done from 6th month before the expiry date. The notice mentioning the trademark renewal will be issued before the date of expiry.

Through the process of Restoration, an individual who failed to renew the trademark can renew charging a payment as a fine. The registrar can remove the trademark from the journal after 12 months from the expiry.

Documents required for Trademark Renewal

A copy of the trademark registration certificate
Power of attorney to represent the applicant
Photo Id and address proof of the applicant
Copy of application form of Trademark registration

TM-R and TM-18 are the forms for renewing a trademark. This along with a fee can do the task.

2 Step Procedure on Renewing

Applying TM-R form for the renewal of trademark registration, filed by the registered owner or an agent run by him.
Renewal validity is for the next 10 years.
Methodical checking on the procedure, until the registrar approval.
Once the registration of the trademark is completed, this will be published on the official gazette of the trademark registry.
Application Form 18 with the requisite fees is reviewed for quality before it is finally approved for renewal.
